Reflections on ASL in 2013

Gather round fellas...time to reflect on the ASL accomplishments of 2013. And I must say that 2013 has been perhaps the greatest year for ASL in the 35 years that I have played the world's best tactical WWII board game.

Here is a list of the highlights and my thanks to some of the key people who made 2013 such a great year for ASL:

• 16 Total games completed either Face-to Face at the Texas Tournament or via SKYPE Cardboard.
• My humble blog finally surpassed 10,000 visits. Thanks to each and everyone of you who spend the time to visit my blog. I very much appreciate your visits.
• Thanks to my regular Wednesday SKYPE oppponent, Scott Waites. Since 1989 you have been kicking my butt in ASL. Thanks for letting me win every now and then!
• Thanks to Christoper Brackney. Our Friday night SKYPE sessions have resulted in some epic ASL battles. Borisov will stand out for years I suspect as one of the truly great games I have played. Looking forward to an exciting 2014!
• Thanks to Chris and Helen at ASL Battleschool for your storefront, your blog posts, your wonderful battle dice and for your welcomed advice to step outside of the box and participate in the Texas Tournament.
• Thanks to George Kelln for the opportunity to play test one of your new scenarios. Hope to have the opportunity again in 2014.
• Thanks to Rick Reinesch for an outstanding Texas Tournament, thanks to my teammates Gary Trezza and Daniel Virobik, and thanks to my outstanding opponents Philip Johnson, David Longstreet, Matt Shostak, Dan Best, Doyle Motes, Mike Bistodeau, and Roy Connelly. The Texas Tournament will standout as one of the best moments of 2013 and a check off the bucket list. And hopefully, I will have a chance to participate next year.
