Remembering Antietam

1998 with my family at Antietam.
My son stands where history was made. In November, he'll be headed to USMC Boot Camp and will become an active participant in our nation's history.
The Sunken Road, "Bloody Lane". A place of great courage, great sorrow and great sacrifice for the ideals shared by Americans on both sides of the Mason-Dixon Line.

  1. Nice pics. I visited the battlefield with my dad when I was very young, and it looks just like I remember. We even ran into a Union reenactor who was wandering around...he stayed in character, too.

  2. I hope my children will remember having been there, but they were still pretty young then, so you never know.

Antietam is a really beautiful place.
